On January 28, 2011, UK cast roll producer The Davy Roll Company Limited, Gateshead, England, changed its brand name to that of its USA indirect parent company Union Electric Steel Corporation, and changed its registered name to Union Electric Steel UK Limited. Only the name of the company has changed, not the legal entity.

Union Electric Steel Corporation, one of the world's leading producers of forged hardened steel rolls, acquired the UK cast roll producer in 1999, creating one of the world's largest roll companies servicing the global metals industry.  During the last decade, the companies have integrated technology, quality assurance, research and development, marketing, after-sales service support, and many other areas.  We became one family of companies with a common purpose: to be the world's leading producer of forged and cast rolls.  We now want to validate that unity by adopting one brand name, Union Electric Steel.
